
Emily Hammad Mrig, PhD, MA, is an Assistant Professor at the University of California, San Francisco, with training from the University of Colorado and Yale University. Her NIH-funded research examines cost barriers and payment pathways in precision medicine, using mixed-methods approaches including AI-driven health records analysis to promote equitable access to molecular diagnostics and targeted cancer therapies. She is a recipient of several recent awards, including the 2026 UCSF Emerging Scholar Award.
