Bryson Katona, MD, PhD, AGAF, CGAF is the Jeffery and Cynthia King Associate Professor of Lynch Syndrome Research in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine. Bryson is also an Associate Professor of Medicine and Genetics, and he currently serves as the Executive Director of the King Center for Lynch Syndrome at Penn Medicine’s Abramson Cancer Center, as well as the Director of Penn’s Gastrointestinal Cancer Genetics Program. Bryson is a physician-scientist who is an expert in gastrointestinal cancer genetics, and his research program, which spans the basic, translational, and clinical spectrum, focuses on the diagnosis, risk assessment, management, and biology of hereditary gastrointestinal cancer predisposition syndromes. Bryson is currently Treasurer of the Collaborative Group of the Americas on Inherited Gastrointestinal Cancer (CGA-IGC) and is a member of the Executive Committee of the Pancreatic Cancer Early Detection (PRECEDE) Consortium. Bryson is also vice-chair of the AGA Institute Council’s Gastrointestinal Oncology section, as well as the chair of the Publications Committee for the PRECEDE Consortium.
